Ice Cream Sunday: Brandy Butter Caramel Sauce
It's Christmas Eve Eve; tomorrow we're having Christmas number 1 with my family, on Christmas Day we're having Christmas number 2 with Mr E's family, and right now we're curled up with chocolate and wine and the best season finale the creators of Homeland ever could have given us. What I'm saying is, I'm going to keep this brief!
Last week we had Mince Pie Ice Cream for Ice Cream Sunday, and I promised you a pretty special sauce to go with it... so I'm keeping that promise.

Cheat's Hollandaise
Mr Ellwood loves Eggs Benedict. Actually, I love Eggs Benedict too... but you know what I don't love? All the work that goes into making Eggs Benedict. So I refuse to make it unless it's a special occasion...
... Saturday was Mr Ellwood's birthday, so guess what was on order for breakfast? That's right... Pancakes!
Kidding :)
Yup, Mr Ellwood requested Eggs Benedict.
Have I said Eggs Benedict too many times now? I feel like I might have, which could be a problem for the rest of this post... oops...

Homemade Hummus
Confession time... It's date night, and I'm not meant to be blogging. I'm not actually meant to be within two feet of technology, but I just really wanted to tell you about this Hummus recipe so I'll make this as brief as I can (possibly not that brief, knowing me!).
One of our favourite meals is a Mediterranean feast... Eh, Greek feast.... Um... Well, it's really just a feast, but the name is tailored depending on what we have in the cupboards! No matter what though, this hummus usually plays a starring role. I love being able to tailor the flavour to exactly our tastes, and it's always nice to have a generous serving in the centre of the table to help yourself to with wedges of fresh flatbread, pitta or even just a crusty loaf. The kind of serving I like to present would be pretty expensive if you went with shop bought hummus!

Lemony Snicket
My sister is one of my favourite people on this planet. Quite frankly, my husband pretty much only just pips her to the post... but even then there are some days... (kidding honey, promise!)
So why the odd title to this post? Well, she has been on my mind today (as she is most days), so I decided to go ahead and dedicate this post to her.

The Simplest of Lemon Curds
We don't get much summer around here. I think we had a week, about a two months ago, which was simply glorious- but since then it has rained, and rained and rained some more. Therefore, we have to make our own sunshine!
