Homemade Hummus
Confession time... It's date night, and I'm not meant to be blogging. I'm not actually meant to be within two feet of technology, but I just really wanted to tell you about this Hummus recipe so I'll make this as brief as I can (possibly not that brief, knowing me!).
One of our favourite meals is a Mediterranean feast... Eh, Greek feast.... Um... Well, it's really just a feast, but the name is tailored depending on what we have in the cupboards! No matter what though, this hummus usually plays a starring role. I love being able to tailor the flavour to exactly our tastes, and it's always nice to have a generous serving in the centre of the table to help yourself to with wedges of fresh flatbread, pitta or even just a crusty loaf. The kind of serving I like to present would be pretty expensive if you went with shop bought hummus!

Roasted Spiced and Salted Chickpeas
If you've read a few of my posts, you may have come to the conclusion that "health food" isn't my forte. You would be right. That's not to say though that I don't like healthy food- it's just not usually the first (or second, or third) thing that pops into my head when I'm dreaming up my next experiment. But, once in a while, I do get the notion for something that wont mean I have to do an extra mile on the treadmill...

Bacon and Chickpea Soup with Spicy Tortilla Chips
Wow. Just wow. Seriously- wow. Yes, I know the title of this post was "blah blah soup blah blah" but I promise, soup can be wow! Don't believe me? Having served this for Sunday lunch I was still pottering about in the kitchen (read: taking photos to post on here) before sitting down to eat, and suddenly there was a great deal of shouting from the other room. "Honey! Honey! Seriously, come quick, you have to taste this!"... which brought a smile to my face almost as quickly as I thought "he thinks I didn't taste it before serving?".
