Ginger Sesame Crispy Chicken

On Tuesday I told you about my soft noodles with beansprouts. What I didn't tell you was that while I am more than happy with just a bowl of yummy noodles, if I had served that to Mr E he would have gone searching for the meat and would have come up feeling very short changed. So I didn't.

Instead, I served the noodles with Ginger and Sesame Crispy Chicken. I was still in my "I really do not want to cook right now" mood, but thankfully this recipe takes, if possible, even less prep and effort than the noodles! Oh how happy this makes me. What makes me even happier is that with so little effort I can still enjoy succulent chicken with amazing crispy skin (the best part) in a sweet and fragrant and salty marinade. I believe the only word for it is... woohoo!

Speedy Five-Spice Lamb Noodles

I don't know about yours, but dinner time can be a little rushed in our house! To try to help with this, I love trying out new recipes that I can have ready in half an hour.

This, for the girl who was always last in cooking class and had to do her washing up in her lunch break, can be quite a challenge!

Thank goodness for Asian cooking! Is it just me, or do they have the speedy dinner down to a fine art? I love that, with a wok in hand, even I can have a yummy meal packed with bright, bold flavours on the table in 30 minutes! It doesn't hurt that it also minimises the washing up...

Sushi Date Night

Date nights with my husband are usually the highlight of my week (I say "usually" because sometimes my big sister comes to visit, and we all know how excited I get about that!). Things can get a little hectic, so knowing we have a night to look forward to when we can slow things down a little and actually catch up beyond "Good day?" and "Dinner will be ready in ten" and "I'll be in at 9, what time will you get done?" is pretty exciting. If I'm honest, we can sometimes be a little lazy and fall back on the old faithful formula of dinner and a DVD (well if it aint broke...), but every now and then one of us has a brainwave. Our sushi date night was one of those.
